This tale is the Apotheosis of Neurosis. Not exactly a story — more like a cartoon rumination on Civilization and Its Discontents (oh, wait, Freud already used that title. Rats!). Frankly, this is the least popular of my web cartoon stories — possibly because it has no plot — but some people seem to, ah, relate to it. Don’t tell your shrink: it might not fit into his world view. I gotta go.

This is just a temporary placeholder for the expanded site map I'm building. It will go online along with the expansion of this web site that I'm working on.

Long before I first became obsessed with computers (in the early 1980s), I was doing experiments with oil paints, traditional prepress, and so on. Naturally, when computers came along my technology obsessions blossomed. I currently have many thick looseleafs (looseleaves?) filled with my notes on art-tech subjects, mostly of the computerish kind. The question is how much I’ll actually put online — webifying the stuff is a lot of work. Stay tuned.

This is a subject I’ve taught many times — at the now-defunct Boston Computer Society; at the also-now-defunct Summer Computer Institute; at a technical college and several private training schools (of both the defunct and non-defunct variety); and most recently at a computer club meeting at MIT. (MIT is definitely not defunct.) This list (with comments, naturally) is a small bit (pun intended) of my lecture notes. It will grow.

Full title: Why do we trace raster images into vector form? It stars an ape of the species Pongidae Hollywoodus. Experienced art directors already know about this, but it provides a good visual overview for the uninitiated.
